Hi, Bo Diddley, one of the rock n roll greats has died. He was 79. His music was wide reaching. Many big hitting artists were directly or indirectly influenced by his sound. Buddy Holly used his riff for the song "Not fade away". The Rolling Stones covered the song and made it more like Bo Diddley when they had a big hit with it. Others bands such as the Yardbirds, The Animals, The Pretty things, The Who and Bruce Springsteen borrowed from Bo. The sound of his distorted fuzzy guitar producing a constant "bomp bomp" rhythmic beat helped to define a rock sound. SCIDB
