    Hello MO

Well to tell you the truth
    I like his early stuff
From about "The Man who Sold the world" to "Low"

    Scarey Monsters is Excellent... :D

Heathen is good and I think his latest album Infinity is excellent

But thats only all in my own opinion of course

Bits of Space Oddity (but not the song "Space Oddity" itself, oddly enough), bits of The Man Who Sold the World, most of Low and Heroes, the original version of "John, I'm Only Dancing" (not the horrendous remix) and bits of Scary Monsters. I can live without all of the rest I think.

"Hunky Dory" is his most accessable work - it's a fantastic album.

Also, NO collection is complete without a DERAM 7inch of "The laughing gnome" - I don't care if he's disowned it - at least it proves the acid he was on was good.

Bowie has so many incarnations that he can be different things to everybody - my personal choice though is Heroes/ Hunky Dory.

I'll stick in a vote for Station to Station. The Bowie at the Beeb sessions from the early 70s are also pretty tasty.

Bowie has done so much good stuff in so many styles that it's hard to pick favourites. However...

    1 Station To Station
    2 Hunky Dory
    3 Diamond Dogs
    4 Ziggy Stardust

...but not necessarily in that order.

I guess I prefer the earlier stuff to the later stuff, but then again I have Scary Monsters and Let's Dance. I like The Man Who Sold The World too. And Heroes is good. And then there was Tin Machine - I really liked Cat People (Putting Out Fire).

Oh the hell with it. The man's a genius. You'll just have to collect the whole damn lot

Where's he gone with this newest album? Is it MOre back to his routes or, progressing as he has been? In other words, will I need to get it for myself, or can I pass it off as an xmas pressie for my dad and just *borrow* it ;)

I take it that's a yes. You had me mystified. The only track I could think of that was vaguely related to 'routes' was 'station to station'. But that's only one route :(

So just which 'roots' has Mr. B gone back to. He has quite a few to choose from :D

I would say the new album Reality sounds like a modernised
Scary Monsters But not as dark.

I think Robert is right - I heard a recent interview with Bowie and he quoted - he thought this was his best songwriting ever - and I totally agree, top notch!

Taking the g/f to see him on Sat. night in Metz :D :D :D .
43 Euroids a ticket  but it's a 'once in a lifetime' experience.

Support is the Dandy Warhols. Wouldn't have minded but I've already seen them twice in two years .

    Mmmmmm, juicy avacado :MILD: .

I prefer his later stuff such as earthling, hours and Heathen.

Plus I am seeing him next wednesday, can't wait.

I love bowie, and I love that there is a tonne of second hand vinyl knocking about for a couple of quid each, nice.
