Brand New 47 Laboratory Gaincard & Humpty Amplifier (UK)

I am currently in possession of a brand new and never unpackaged 47 Laboratory Gaincard amplifier, which I hereby intend to sale.

To be precise, for sale is:

- 47 Laboratory 4706 "Gaincard", 25W version
- 47 Laboratory 4700 "Power Humpty", 25W version, 220-240V AC


I am working on the basis, that if you are indeed viewing this you must already be familiar with 47 Laboratory and its simply astounding works of mechanical and electronic art.

47 Laboratory is a truly special entity in the world of high fidelity audio equipment. In fact, it is so special to me, I no longer see it being part of that world... it simply ascends above.

I went a great many years listening and investing sizable sums in "high-fidelity" equipment. The kind of items you see in the so called Hi-Fi publications.

Sparing the details, of how and when, 47 Laboratory changed my entire musical world on first encounter. I have not looked back, I have never been more emotively engaged in the reproduction of music and 47 Laboratory is entirely responsible.


The Gaincard and Power Humpty I am selling was purchased one year ago in the UK, from the UKs only 47 Laboratory dealer.

I am unsure of current pricing, as it is not made widely available and divulged on an inquiry basis. I have been told the price will have risen over the past 12 months through importing/distribution due to currency exchange rates with the Japanese Yen and therefore imagine this would now retail around £3000 GBP.

These items are hand built, by their designer, on an small batch basis. I recall waiting over the course of a month for my Gaincard/Humpty order.


The reason for selling this Gaincard when I am so in love with 47 Laboratory and its creations?! I went spending crazy and bought this Gaincard, when I was already very much in love with the existing Gaincard I owned. I had intended to create another listening room, around this second Gaincard and a pair of Avantgarde Duo loudspeakers. Unfortunately I did never get around to it and after a recent move of locale I no longer have the necessary space to entertain such a system.

I am happy for this to be collected from my resistance in Somerset, or can happily arrange for it to be couriered to your address. Most likely via UPS as I find their quality of service for domestic deliveries to be most reliable and overall excellent. International buyers are very welcomed, but do remember this is a 220-240V AC example. Shipping in that cases would most likely be FedEx.

Incidentally I am also in possession of a beautiful pair of brand new 47 Laboratory 4722 "Lens" single-drive stand mount loudspeakers. They are immensely captivating tiny speakers, truly extraordinary things. Love them terribly! But never got around to using the pair I purchased. Intend to list these on eBay soon, but inquire if you are at all interested.
