WTB: Trying to find a Broken NAD Power Amp !!!

Hiya all, It's my first post so here goes!

I'm trying to source a broken NAD power amp to put a PC inside and run my MP3 files etc through my existing NAD system. All I need is the casing, and I'll connect the NAD power button to the PC power button, add a Sound card + TV card, and hey presto! a cheap solution to a media server!

So far, I have it all rigged up :D And it works GREAT! , but the PC looks V ugly where it is, and thus the Sasing is required to replace the current PC case.

Only problem is, I can't find anyone with a broken NAD power amp for me to get the case from. It has to be the newer style ones - for example like this:

    I live in Hampshire, UK.

Can someone help - pleeeeeeeese :(

Great site BTW, have learnt lots, and everyone seems to be V friendly

    Mark
    :D

I tried, they will sell me the front and the cover, but not the base. £50 for them both - not bad, but seeing as I'm just able to afford oetrol at the moment I think that'll be a 'when I can afford it' project...

My TNT Flexitable on the other hand is finished and Superb! :)

With a bit of lateral thinking I reckon you could make one for next to nothing. I got a non working Kenwood amp from a local Buy & Sell place a while ago and striped it down as I only wanted the case to house all my power supplies. I already had some 6mm alloy plate so I will cut that down to make a new faceplate. A metal merchant will probably charge no more than a tenner to cut a bit to size or you could even use MDF. A bit of effort with a file and emery cloth will soon have it to shape. A trip to the local Halfords to get a spay can of paint to match the NAD and away you go, job done.

I'll get pics of the flexi-table up asap.

About fabricating my own case, I really wanted the NAD one so it looked EXACTLY like a piece of NAD equipment... (Picky aren't I ;-)
