Do cables really sound different when a signal is passed through it for an extended period ?

If so, what is the science behind it ?

can any of you audiophiles explain this to me ?

right, does it make a difference to you ?
if not then why comment ?
does it bother you that much?

I think it has something to do with electrons having an easier path because the conductors molecules align or something?

to be honest I don't really care about the science of it, it does make a difference to me and that is all I am really bothered about to be honest. :)

I suggest you google it for a better explanation.

Just read the last issue of hifi world. Explains it rather well and will stop this getting messy again.

    Johnny,

I,too, would like to know more about the science behind this hobby.

That hi fi world article sounds interesting.

From what sleuthing I've done, its benefitial to burn in equipment but with cables its a little more debatable. I wonder then if its just that you have got the equipment thoroughly warmed through.

    I can't say I've proved anything!

    cheers

    David

Ahhh, another deliberately contentious thread. It comes as no surprise to me who the author of the thread is. Expect this one to be short-lived.

I think you must have misunderstood something I said. It certainly wasn't meant to be contentious.

"it comes as............" how come? I dont know you and you don't know me!

Right, I've given some thought and reading time to this, and am closing it. You've asked this question, or close enough to, before. Other people have asked and discussed it before ad nauseam. This thread is going to provide NO useful purpose.
