    Hi,

    I'm fairly new to this but just bought some gear after a few demos and some research;

    Camb Audio Azur 640A v2
    Camb Audio Azur 640c v2
    Mordant Short 902i

    Really unsure which way to go on speaker cabling, I already have 1x 4m length of QED Silver Anniversary Bi-wire (I need 4m either side);

    1. Do I stick with the bi-wire and buy some more. Looks like costing me about £100 with bannana plugs - seems a lot for this system??
    2. Do I split the bi-wire to make 2 single wire lengths?
    3. Do I flog the bi-wire and get something else?
    4. If I do bi-wire do I use bannana plugs 4 on speaker end and two on amp end or use the A+B speaker terminals?

    Really grateful for your thoughts, especially anybody who has used this kit?

    Split the cable into two ~ don't bother with the bi-wire.

    Use small pieces of the cable to make jumpers for the terminals on the speakers.

    Use the saved £100 for CDs, drinks down the pub, loose women, whatever!

    The amp and speakers are fine, it the QED cable that I have serious issues with. Buy some Van Damme 2.5mm from your local Maplins which isn't expensive and you will note a big improvement in sound quality

    Thanks both of you. Seems like bi-wiring is not the way to go. INterested in the Van Damme - I couldn't see it named on maplins website (the nearest one is about an hour away), but they do have a 2.5mm unamed speaker cable, is that the one? What would you suggest for terminations? Glood plated bannana plugs? DIY or get fitted?

    Don't buy any less than the 2.5mm thickness and this will see you through many an upgrade. Not all Maplins branches keep it in stock but it can be ordered locally or bought mail order over t'internet from the Maplins website.

    DIY banana plugs are fine and they are much of a muchness, just keep an eye on their tightness every once in a while. The best banana plugs in my opinion are WBT 0645's but at £12-£14 a shot they are very pricey

    I'd not use the gale ......I had six boxes of the stuff off fleabay [richer sounds end of reels] You can hear it distorting the music ! in comparison with My current silver ribbons. The Van damn stuff is passable ...........

    I'd agree don't biwire

    if you can try twin and earth 15amp mains cable ...you may like the solid core sound, its leaner, cleaner and more dynamic than multistrand stuff.
