The Sigma (model below this one) saw off - in the minds of many- the DAC 64 at Chris's (bottlenecks) bake-off a while back. Having gone from a DAC 64 to this myself, I can attest to the fact that although the DAC 64 might arguably do more "hi fi", this does waaay more music in a natural, fluid, more listenable way.

 

is it the 24 or 18 bit? Do you have any links etc?

 

It's the 18 bit. Some reckon the upsampling upgrade robs the Alpha of much of its life. Don't have any links to info but there are quite a few reviews on the Audioreview site IIRC

From memory, I think it's got rca, aes/ebu, optical inputs, rca outputs
