Cambridge Audio CD200, how much?

    second hand , no remote , how much do you guys recon?
    im only asking because ive been offered one for a fair price and im not sure what a fair price for one of these cd players is.
    any ideas guys?

    Looking at this it looks very old, I would say early to mid 1990's. Looking at the display and the button arrangements the Transport is a Sony, but I wouldn't say it was worth any more than £20 to be honest. The budget Sony CD330 and 530 ranges probably sound better and are now going to very cheap on ebay, (this is the 1999-2002 models).

    PS I think this may be the exact CD player you were taking about :p

    It does, I would say it is a 1995/1996 model looking at it more closely and I am usualy good with years. I guess it depends on what DAC it has and how well that DAC compares to a modern budget DAC.

    The other thing to consider is wear and tear, lasers and transports don't last for ever and I have kown Sony's transport mechs to go wrong.

    thanks guys,
    i think im going to give the cd player a miss. its his amp im more interested in, i used to have one of these but it got fried beyond repair at the begining of the year and i never thought id get the chance to own another one cos they dont come up that often.might look for a cheap sony cd player to keep me going until funds allow for something better.
