I bought a DAB (seperate) radio last week from Argos but I am now regretting it because only a few stations sound good on it. I have also bought a new amp from Richers which I am not happy with but they said I can take back.

My plan is to take both back and then spend £300 on a new amp.

You should be able to! My housemate took a turntable he'd "hired" for the weekend back to Argos and got a refund. Horrible Bush thing it was, but he really wanted to hear the Foo Fighters LP he'd bought and his TT was being serviced...

They're not known as the hire shop for nothing!
