    Cos this guy can't.

Brough a watch of ebay, knew it was 2nd hand, but the description sayd the face, glass was and it quote "spotless" no defects. I bid on it as it wa a low start bid and won it, yippie I thought.

Received the watch, seemed to work ok, but I noticed that the face has 2 largish scratches on it, doesn't prevent me from using it and I'm not that bothered.

But thought I would point out to the guy that the watch isn't as described and that other ebay users may not be as tollarant and he should be carefull about how he describes his items.

    Ok my email to him
I carried on to say I would give positive feedback cos I wasn't that bothered.

    His reply
Well firstly I wouldn't call the scratches a "minute imperfection" and I don't regard my comment at OTT, if the guy didn't see the scratches he's got to be as blind (or blinder) than me as I can see them perfectly well.

Geez this guy needs a chill pill wasn't like I was demanding a refund for gods sake.

All in all though glad to have my own watch now my wife can have hers back (I wouldn't ask! ) can't beleive its taken me 4 months to get a replacement watch.

Arrr, that's better got that off my chest.

You should have said that to him - that'd have shut him up. What's the item # - curious to know what you bought??

Na, didn't want to prevoke it any further, he obviously mis-understood my remarks and I didn't think there was any more millage in carrying on, but its done and dusted, the item no if your interested is 5023670831, these things normally go for £75-£90 so this ones a bit of a bargin, what I like is the HUGE screen so I can see the time without having to use a magnifier! I'm surprised at a few things though, its a sports watch, so the one function is hasn't got is a stop watch, WTF is up with that? I like the idea of it being solar powered, no mor £8 battery changes every 2 years, bliss why can't all watches be like that!

(and ya I do see the ironey in my topic title! ) hehe :)

Ah, but what if it's dark?? That's why I prefer Seiko Kinetics and their ilk ;)

It's a cool lookin' watch though dude - I meant to ask you to look at it in the pub last night, but that sodding Crazy Frog song warped my mind and made me forget...

BTW, it DOES say "spotless" - to me that means "no scratches". Should have given him neutral feedback.

Exactly my point Dom, it did say "Glass Spotless" and it wasn't, thus it wasn't as described, so I was just advising him to take care over his descriptions and he went off on one. t0sser.

I didn't want to damage my feedback, no doubt he'd have followed it up with some childish comment, if you look at the feedback that others had left for him I think he is ecconomical with the truth far too often, well I hope it bits him in the arse one day.

Well dom my watch will keep working if there is no light for 5 months as the solar panel recharges a battery, its a great idea, I'm just surprised that it seems that only Casio do it. Its quite funny, if its under my shirt and I go to read it the display actualy turns off but as soon as it detect light it switches back on. hours of fun! :)

    lee,
i have a citizen eco-drive modena which works in a similar way (solar power charging a battery). it's an analogue watch but as like yours it will go into 'standby' when covered for over a minute - the second hand will stop moving at 12 o'clock. then when you uncover it, it whizzes round to give you the current time.
    cheers
