Definitely no EMT. My guess is Neumann.

I have used MC's since the late 70's, I own a Goldbug Mr Brier, it is probably the best cartridge I have ever owned / heard.

I had it checked by Expert Stylus Company last time I was in England, he described it as a 'master piece' one of the very best MC's he had ever examined.

Jimmy Hughes used a Mrs Brier for best part of 20 years, "nothing to beat it" in his system.

mike's continued silence implies that my Neumann guess is wrong. In that case, this must be a Lumière prototype. The Lumière was a Neumann clone project out of Japan a few years ago. As far as I know it was never really commercialised as they couldn't get consistency in manufacturing. The Lumière prototype I saw and heard was white, though.

Well Done that man! And a perfect match for a nice pair of Altecs.

I run the Allnic cartridge on my record player. It beats the Arkiv hands down in a head to head match in the same setup (during an audition). At a fraction the cost of the Linn, exceptionally vfm.

A gem waiting to be discovered!

    Hi,

There's a picture on page 3 (post 37) of this thread. Not seen a proper picture yet.

Anybody know anything about the Denon 608? Suposed to be a new cart from Denon, but I can't find anything about it.

Is that the cart that generates sound by modulating light flux? I can't remember the name, it was in a show report some time back.

I think Win Labs had a similar thing back in the late 70's early 80's. It may even have been the same person behind it. I never did hear one of those.

Got mine from Mr. Allnic himself, he was on a tour of Singapore to promote the cartridge and I placed an order on the spot.
