I like to change tubes once in a while, and will not carry 25 kgs every time, and be left without music for some time...

And I want a new toy...

I decided on the Classic 16.0 with EL34 Winged-C SED instead of the original Electro Harmonix, the first are supposed to be more powerful and dynamic, (I keep the EH for spare, and play)...

    Thanks for your advice...

Congratulations on your choice and on spreading some wealth around :) I wondered if you've seen some good comments? If it was a gamble for fun, I hope you let us know what you think.

Mine doesnt have remote control nor blue leds... :p

This is what the seller, who also sold my Cayin, had to say:

Also, I use bass management, so from 80 hz down goes to the active subwoofer, bass is less critical this way, I think...

I hear people say the EL34 has better mids than the KT88, I am paying to find out, as here in Riga I cannot test otherwise...

This is user friendly manual bias adjust, and looks cool too...

By the way, if someone is interested in one Cayin A-88T, about 6 months old, like new, replaced pre tubes:

    6SL7GT NOS / Haltron, London
    6SN7WGT / Electro-Harmonix, low noise matched

Price is 1.000 euros + shipping...

Nnnnooo - but a modded Teac if it hasn't gone to Africa could be another story!

Hope you enjoy the new amp. When did you replace the Vincent with the Linn, did I miss a thread on that one:confused:

Cheap flights from Liverpool to Rega these days Antonio. Perhaps you should host an all weekend 'bakeoff':D

    Good listening.

    Hi Jim,

The TEAC is my pet, and my backup system, I still dont trust bottlenecks that much... :shame:

The Linn has been here for a very long time, the Vincent didnt last more than a couple of days...

There are mobs from the UK here, every weekend, but not for bakeoffs... ;)

    You are welcome any time...

    Classic!

Posted Sat Dec 2, 2006, 1:53 AM ET — By Wes Phillips

"This is Classic, one of the best Chinese audio manufacturers" said Original's Linda Ling. "Everything is so well-engineered."

Pure audio catnip—take this 40Wpc No. 16.0 tubed integrated here: potted transformers, gorgeous metal work, and that luverly retro-chic meter up front.

While I was drooling over the Classic No. 16.0, its equally charming designer, Mr. Jimmy Yu introduced himself to me. He seemed pleased that other people appreciated his work—and from the size of the crowd ooowing and ahhhing in the Classic room, I was far from the only one who did.

"Milton Keynes-based Aurousal Ltd has launched a range of stand-mount speakers that the company claims will 'deliver sound quality performance comparable with other speaker systems that cost five times as much'. "
