Just a word of warning, the Pioneers do this too but if you use the digital volume it output far too much voltage and was very loud. Also at their minimum volume they sound terrible.

I do believe other makes such as Wadia have a much more successful version but they're expensive.

    Cheers, Tim

Just a word of warning, some players (I know of Marantz) when the power goes off then back on the volume resets to max, and then automatically start playing !

i second quad. i had a surprising experience when driving ATC20s directly with the older one, plain 99 CDP, though ICs can be critical. i've had good results with 3m long VDH the second.

The quad 99cdp2 punches well above its weight .....its dac section is very good on its own [not the very best] its preamp is also very good ...incombination its fantastic... you'd need to spend atleast another £1.5k to get all the facilities packed into this single unit in my opinion....

if your up my way give me a bell and have a listen ...

The version one has the ground return spiraled up the outer ...the mk3 has both conductors held in close together in a polyurathane sleeve ...its just a more consistant construction.
