I appear to have a disc stuck in my player it will neither open or play, I tried turning of the power for a few minutes to no avail, what else can I do to remove the cd and (hopefully) have my player back in service?

    Mike,

The player will need to have the side bracing caps and bolts removed, along with the top plate.
The transport bridge will then need to be removed (very carefully), to gain access to the disc, possibly the vrds clamp has caught the front portion of the laser diode assembly so care will next to be taken to lift the clamp and free the laser too.
Any warranty on the player will be void unless and aurthorised Wadia dealer carries out the procedure.
    hope that helps

thanks for your reply, as the machine was pre-owned and has a jan 2004 label on the base I assume it is well out of warrenty.
I think I may have the lid off just to see but I suspect its going to need an experienced hand. I'm more suprised that it can happen really, also I'm guessing that its a stuck cd rather than some other, more severe problem.

    Mike,

Some times the 'logic' can be corrupted by power surges and spikes, and it 'lose' its place so to speak.
So on some very rare occations, the vrds clamp does not release and it jams.
You will need 2 people really to preform the above operation , as some one will need to hold the transport bridge (its heavy and there is no where to rest it with it connected up)
You will need the correct torque to to re tighten the 4 screws holding the bridge down afterwards.
Also be aware that Wadia use imperial sized allen bolts.

    oops
only just seen your latest post, took the lid off to look and it was clear that the laser was not moving so i unscrewed the transport bridge and removed the cd and replaced the bridge.
The bridge screws didnt seem very tight so I just firmed them up again.
I've just being listening to it for the last 2 hours, seems fine, or am I just storing up trouble?
