Discovered my schroers rack had cracked where the supports for the bottom shelf was so took it back and replaced it with one of these, tall one in blackstone http://www.soundations.co.uk/f1/index.html

Pure bastard to setup so taking a break got it for less than £500 exdem.

schroers looks nice but not maybe built sturdy enough.

if I don't like the new rack I can take it back but after taking nearly 2 hours to assemble it, (40 or so nuts to screw on those long supports) with the prospect of another 1-2 hours getting it all level, even mana doesn't take this long.

Penance wasn't suggesting you were taking the mick but it made me think so thought i'd get it in before the cardigan and slippers brigade, take time out from their werthers originals and make snide comments. I'll let you know what it is like (£845 new), got some money back as well as paid £700 for the schroers one., kinda miss it's looks tho.

Penance - Are you sure it won't be crushed into little pieces by your amp?

Would double check with jack on weight tho should be ok, on the other hand I'm sure they have an oblong stands unique amp stand like the top of the reference table he may give you good price on that, (top caps are black i believe) BTW took a look at that unison research 845 by f**k its enourmous, requires 2 bloody amp stands side by side.

    Paul,

Looks nice with the Bow stuff on, I tried one of these before buying the Couplare, its south aficain isn't it I think?, though not atthe height you have yours though, It did kill the timing in my system, although the detail and bass got lifted (to around +50db at 18hz :D ), which is a shame cuz they did look and feel a class product.I will agree with 'fun factor' on assembly
How tall are the speakers? and are they Skibo's bolted ontop?

Not measured the height of the speakers, but the rack is 900mm

Speakers ART expressions, they come in two flavours Epression reference monitors, with or whithout dedicated stand (tall filled box with footprint a bit smaller than the moitor, painted the same colour), or with bass module (this can be added later like skibos) as I have, made of birch ply and very heavy can't remeber exactly but between 60-80kilos, the tweeter has horn flare and is soft dome, cones are french made with "velvet kevlar" cones (supposed to be the most inert) with solid phase plugs and rubber surrounds, bass rubber is especially supple. The skibos cost (with stands) £800(£1100) or £1600 as rthree way with bass module costing £800 as upgrade, The expressions cost £3495 (£3995) or £7990 as three way or add £3990 as upgrade. If you haven't heard them (both) you really should get alisten at some point, know of a guy selling the big brothers for £8k (£25k retail) these are 3 way each speaker having its own box, they are Fu**in' awsome but you need a room at least as big as buds, the boxes all tilt to time align them, tweeter is the same, midrange is same as my bass driver, and woofer is 12" pa derived monster. Only the Skibo stand mounts are biwire, when you connect the bass modules your speaker cable plugs in to this and flying leads attach the bass unit to the monitor, something to do with the crossover i believe, mine crossover at 100Hz and 2KHz +/- 2db don't have instruments to measure i use my ears, if it sounds good it is.

Will take note of your advice re the rack as I can take it back, considered an obelisk olibasi slate rack but this doesn't dismantle and has a few chips, or may consider aspect rdc not sure will see what this one sounds like.
