Just got a new t/t with an acrylic platter, up until now it has always had a nice felt mat.

When changing records the discs now seem to "slide" a little as they come into contact with the platter when the motor is running.

Just wondered whether this can cause any surface wear on the discs and if it is advisable to turn off the motor at every change and let the platter come to a stop.
