    Hi All,

Amongst my quest for audio perfection I was wondering if any of you guys (or gals) would care to take a trip to Cheltenham and listen to some kit. I'd be interested to hear what the more experienced (and less!) members think of my mirage M1's.

If anyone has a nice setup they'd like to show off I'd be interested in hearing whatever you've got.

    Share the love :D

    Cheers, Tim

my theory is that it's all the gchq spooks in cheltenham, who have become addicted to high quality audio from listening in on all our telephone conversations!

You gotta be Joking :D there are too busy playing hunt the lardin game & how many kgs of white power can caught before entering these fair isles.
To be fair most of them can't wire a plug, let alone a tap washer, they can discuss quantum mechanics on a differenical plane, but anything remotely common sense and whooo thats a no no

Are they the big omnidirectional fellas with the large woofer box?
If so I heard some powered by a Pass Labs X350, and they were brilliant!
At the moment, if I were buying new speakers it's possible it would be a toss up between them and the Duevel Jupiter (despite the £4.5k price difference!)

I would be delighted to come and hear your stuff but where is Cheltenham?

I see you have a mirage! Whowwww! I haven't touched one up to now. Aren't they a little bit old though. A Mig or a F21 would be better?

If you want to hear my hifi you can call me: I'll put on a record. It won't be so loud as a mirage though.:(

Graham, firms everything up quite nicely, though, its one of those, not sure does it do anything, then take them away, humm oh yes. I've made a few changes to the output stages on the the 850, might even have enough bass to make even MR bass bins smile ;)

    Why not?
I just heard some excerpts from their album: In The Heart Of The Young.

Not bad, it remembers me some of those groups of the 80'.
But I wouldn't hear more than 40-50 minutes at a time.

    Edit:

Uuups: I just saw that this album came out in 1991.
So now I heard excerpts from 'Songs from the ocean floors'. Yes a different style! I had some problems with 'faster' and 'Song of midnight' but the rest was not bad at all. But again not more than 40 minutes in a row...
