Well, Tony, credit where credit's due. You certainly know your cars. Perhaps you enlighten can us, exactly when did BMW manufacture Metros?

Mike stated the standard BMW driver mid management £38=£60K@year exc package spec, can't have an M3 but we'll top up on extra's, I thought the Chav colour scheme would go down well in corperate car parks every where, besides don't all metro drivers want to on a Bemmer at some point?

Nah the driver of the BMW would look more like this but his Nova would waste the beemer, he looks so emaciated as he doesn't eat prefering to spend any spare cash on his wheels and "designer gear"

I think the main problem with the metro was after a few years you tending to put your foot through the floor of the car!

My dad was given a courtesy Rover 100 once as his Punto was in for repairs as a car went into the back of him.

It has quite horrible, the doors felt really tiny they made a horrible tin sound when you closed them. The 1.4 K series engine sounded like it was on its last legs, everytime you slowed down it made a horrible loud knocking sound (possibly the big end?). The car was nearer than my dads punto but inferior in every way. Yes the people who bought the Rover 100's probably snobed their noses at a FIAT.

Saying that given that it was basically a mini chassis, the metro was a bit of a hoot handling wise, we had a coutesy car for a coupla weeks once and took it outr one snowy sunday morning, took 2 hours to get the newspapers, what a hoot. :)

Still has pish handling though, 2.4tdi in nose of punto not make it a 2 wheeler, thing must look like it's trying to dig up tarmac, do the rear wheels still touch the ground.?

I dunno, the one we did, handled pretty fair, though we did leave the lump stock (for 3 weeks!)
