Try typing 'Campsites Normandy' into Google. That should keep you out of trouble for an hour or two :)

The monument and graveyard at Omaha beach is quite a sobering experience. It's so vast, and yet it doesn't even cover a fraction of the life lost in the invasion. We went there as part of a college trip in 1996, and also visited Ste.-Mère Église, Arromanche where there's a good D-Day museum and a good view out to where the remains of the British Mulberry harbour stand.

I know I definitely want to go back there again someday, our visit was very rushed as these college trips often are. Aside of all the history of the Invasion, there's loads of wonderful countryside around to explore as well. Cycling seems an excellent means of getting around.

I'm hoping to get to Bayeux aswell.
Things are looking up, its difficult for Kay to get the time off, being a nurse, but should find out tomorrow.
May go from Poole, i have a friend there and it means i we can sleep the Friday eve and get the ungodly early ferry on Sat morning.

I am expecting a *very* sobering experience, with veterans there this year for the 60th anniversary i imagine it will be a once in a lifetime chance.
