I read elsewhere about the Chinese running the tubes close to
max V to get more power out of their amps. Add to this the fact that they may not be intended for 240V (more like 220V) and you could be looking at short tube life. One dealer / importer made mods to correct the power supply for the UK market (not the Meixing).

I'm no expert (perhaps someone can correct me if wrong) but if run in single mode the power output will be good but distortion is the price. A push pull is a better bet.

I wonder if the whole amp is CE marked?!

Other way around I think. Push-pull has more power but crossover distortion. Single-ended has less power but no crossover distortion.

You can get official imports which sort the voltage. Valve amps ate pretty easy to worl on too.

Tenson is correct, SE's ans SET's espec give a glorious sound due to their clarity. They are low powered but a decent 300b with 90+db speakers will go pretty loud no probs.

Its been a few years since we ran at 240v ac in the UK. That said my multimeter did read 259v ac off the mains a couple of weeks ago!

    That's a monstrous pair of mono's T-bone! 70wpc!! ouch!

Looks easier on the eye than that "tower of babel" MC300-845

I guess the AB suffix means its running in class AB, rather than class A?
