    Hello everyone

Have taken the plunge and bought one of those little opaque acrylic DACs that there were some threads about a while ago.

It's coming from Hong Kong so all being well I should have it sometime after Christmas.

I was intrigued by Michaelab's description of its strengths and am really looking forward to hearing what this £100 neon cigarette packet can do. We love our DAC64 but the promise of more potentially more musicality and dynamics for £100 was too tempting. We can always sell it on if we don't like it - for £100, what's the risk ??.

I'll be trying it out using my Denon DVD-2900 as the transport. When I've given it a good bashing I'll post a review.

    Yours ever

    Paul

Excellent, I'm looking forward to hear what you think. As you said, can't really go wrong for £100.

i'm tempted by one of the so-called digital passwords on ebay. same principle. but has both coax and optical in, and i need the optical if i'm to use my cyrus as transport.

Yep, they look interesting too and are even cheaper (last one went for £70). Not sure about the onboard E frame mains transformer spraying EMI all over the rest of the circuit though! Still, worth a punt IMO.

Details here. He sells them on eBay as panda_99.
