my local tescos has diesel for 97.9p at the moment so i brimmed my tank (mainly cos it was so cheap compared to elsewhere) it was busy but not mad - i drove straight up to a pump (albeit one that wasn;t on the side my filler is on and stretched the hose across) but it was 1 or 2 cars deep on the others. it looked like they'd run out of unleaded but super and diesel was still available. i drove past a couple of other garages on my way there and the queues were horrific but these were on main routes like the a6 so people were jsut panicing. i've now got enough diesel for about 500 miles if i rag it and 800 if i'm careful if that's not enough tescos does large tins of vegetable oil.......
    cheers

People just like Lemmings, one hint of a fuel shortage and its all out war at the pumps, pathetic, ya just gota laugh.
Its all kicking off on our staff noticebaord, shame i'm not allowed to reprint it, but basicly everyone is saying oh well if I don't have fuel I can't get to work. My view is its your responsibility to get to work, so you'll have to find other means of transport, this could get really interesting, but as usual its just the lemmings over reacting.

I am so glad this is finally happening. The government has got to realise that it can only spend what the country can afford. Fuel duty must be cut or we're on the fast road to recessionville.

    BBC News headline.

Chancellor Gordon Brown has called for a "concerted effort" by oil-producing countries to bring down prices - but is not offering to cut taxes on petrol.

We're already running a "false" economy so its only a matter of time :) bring it on.

Its got the potential to become a right old pickle of a situation. Years of governments sticking its collective head in the sand and hoping that'll it'll never happen is to blame if you ask me, and now that the North Sea tap is starting to run dry it could become mighty interesting.

If there's no fuel, I'll have to do the public transport crawl and arrive late. I wouldn't consider not turning up. It's not acceptable to do otherwise as far as I'm concerned. it's a nightmare though that a journey that takes 30/40 minutes in a car can take 2 and a half hours on public transport!

But if everyone has the problem and takes to public transport, there will be an awful lot less cars holding the bus up ;)

Local news is saying that stations are closing in Preston and Blackburn and the Merseyside Police have said the 999 system has crashed due to the number of callers asking where they can buy petrol from!

If you want a real laugh check the BBC's comment secion out, oh dear what woudl these Lemmings do without their cars, hopefully soon we'll find out, anyone would think its "beneth" them to use public transport, no its not perfect but there seems to be no drive to improve it, I suppose because its viewed as not important, but if more people are forced to use it, like everything else you can bet it'll improve PDQ! :p Problem with public transport is its run for profit it needs to be taken back into public hands and ran for the public NOT for shareholders.

Thats in Landan  which is darn sarf   they eat jellied eels all day and talk in a rhyming slang that replaces one sensible word like 'stairs' with three; 'apples and pears', complete nonsense. Anyway Im taking PJ & Duncan (my ferrets) for a walk tonight.
