    Just watched this over the last week or so;

    Closer

Its tripe, you feel nothing for the characters and just want them all to go away.

    Revolver

wtf? Ritchie has climbed up his own arse

    Million Dollar baby

Superbly acted and directed, but still a bit weak for me.A very good film, but I really can't see why it got all the hype it did.8/10

    Crash

Brilliant,10/10 although my wife disagrees. Was spoilt even though it had George Of The Jungle in it.A very, very good film.

I watched this a while back, and couldn't really make my mind up. Will have to dig it out again. Certainly worth watching from what I remember, but left me with a feeling of "WTF"

Oh dear - I'm hearing this is pretty poor - disappointed cos Ray Liotta rocks.

Saw Serenity on Saturday - Excellent (although I'm a fan of the tv series as well) - best sci-fi film for ages.

    Closer - hated it.

Million Dollar Baby - great film.

Serenity - starts off really well but tails off a bit later. Completely predictable but if you can appreciate it for what it is then it should keep you entertained.

oops! I just noticed there's a new(er) film called crash which I assume is the one you meant?

    Not the 1996 Cronenburg MOvie?

Must admit I assumed Saab meant the Cronenburg adaptation of the Ballard book. IN which case I'd agree with the 10/10. Classy stuff and just the thing to give your typical Mail reader the conniptions ... which can't be a bad thing :)

I saw the Cronenberg "Crash" years ago.
It is one of those "love it or hate it" affairs.
Personally, I am in the former camp - i liked it a lot. Very visceral, very original and well filmed, with a lot of charged scenes and a terrific crescendo towards the end.
Remember the way the film uses the twisted metal and flesh almost interchangeably and makes the bumps in crashed cars almost look erotic. Ok, ok I'll stop... ;)

Not sure about the newer version of Crash, whatever that might be. First time I hear about it.

The only one I've seen of those is Million Dollar Baby. I wasn't expecting much but I was very plesantly surprised to be honest. I loved the relationship between Eastwood and Freeman it was really convincing for me. It's a testament to the quality of Freemans acting that he can take a mediocre actor like Eastwood and make him shine. The ending was a bit of needless oversentimentality but that's about all I expect from Holywood these days.
