Got this today as a sort of impulse buy and I'm not really sure what to make of it. The glowing reviews it's had from every conceivable music mag aren't correct IMO. They were like: "Daft Punk and Air move over, the new prince of electronica has arrived" . IMO it isn't a patch on Daft Punk or Air (and actually not really that comparable - the only thing they have in common IMO is that they're all French).

All I can say is "strange". First track is pure 1983 except for the rather spooky synth sound floating over the top. The rest, well, I don't really know what it's trying to be - a modern day Kraftwerk maybe? Whatever it is I don't think it's really succeeding. Will give it another couple of listens but I think it's heading for the "impulse buys that were a mistake" pile :(

this guy (from your link) had a description that made me laugh..

''Colder = a French guy with an asymmetrical haircut and a laptop and he sounds like Mike Oldfield. On a bad day.

Avoid Again by any means necessary and buy some Kraftwerk instead.''

I havent heard it BTW. maybe it'll be a grower?

he has the vinyl. single word "closer" on one side, "again" on the other.

of course i could just ask him.
we played many records that night and i cant remember how it went. need a repeat visit, i think.
