    John - it's so long since I had the Meridian (about 2 months I think) I can't really remember. So I can safely claim the new one's better at less than half the price without fear of my brain telling me I'm wrong.

    WM - tenner's in the post (not). SAT and cable will be with you on Weds, cheers for the loan.

    Steve - thanks. Sorry, don't know about the Marantz, but Google finds a link to a site which describes it thus:

    Naim CD5, Rega Planet, Rega Jupiter, Creek CD50, SAT CDFix. Might have missed one, but I think that was all of them.
