    Hi there,

If I'm doing stuff on the internet (not unusual....) the window keeps jumping off the screen down to the tool bar at the bottom. Its not terribly difficult to click on it to get it back on the screen but its annoying all the same.....its doing it every 5 mins or so....normally jusy tricky point!

Any clues on whats doing it??

    Cheers,

    D.

Right click on the toolbar, click properties, make sure autohide is not ticked.

Actually I'm getting good at keeping the mouse near the tool bar when doing stuff.....when I hear the click I know the windows going to dissapear, can then click it back reasonably easily. Bit of a pain though even so.

Must be some thing some where, like your suggestion, not quite right.

I don't know if this is going to be a great suggestion, but why not switch over to Ubuntu? I know Dev uses it!

I have been toying with it over the last weak and it is absolutely great for most things. Since it is Linux, it isn't really prone to virus' (which I think is your trouble).

You can give it a go as it even runs directly off the CD! It comes with loads of cool software completely legit too. I'm sure AT knows all about it. It has come on leaps and bounds since I last looked at it. Every single bit of my hardware was detected automatically and just worked, even better than XP :)

At least try it off the CD and see what you think.

Do you use Internet Explorer? Even with an antivirus program it leaves a big hole for things to have their way with. If you are, switch over to FireFox at least.

My girlfriend was electrocuted because of some dodgy wiring (they hired a cowboy sparky who never connected the earth).

She was ok had to spend the night in hospital.

As for the reason I have not been here for ages I have just been busy either working, pubbing or with my girlfriend.

She was just a bit ill for a few days afterwards, the fuse didn't blow which was why it was quite a nasty shock, luckily her brother who was upstairs realised something was wrong and turned the power off as soon as he realised she was glued to the dishwasher.

The irony is the week before I gave her a lecture on how her brother should not do the extension wiring.
