comp.........advise pls??

Ubuntu is definitely worth checking out - I used it on my work PC for a bit. I did find it a bit slow on my P3 800-ish (can't quite remember) machine, but no worse than xp. And hey, it's got some really cool screensavers . And it's free!!!!!

Mind you, although its got a nice graphical interface, you'll still take a while to get used to it as it's not the same as MS stuff (which is a good thing IMO - I'm using Vista now and TBH I think it sucks). If you're not computer savvy and have got used to XP then Ubuntu is still going to be a bit of a challenge for a bit.

As Tenson says, try it off the CD - you can boot off the CD to get a 'virtual' OS to see what it's like, which is pretty neat.
