I am frequentley having problems when surfing especially when I type in a web address or click on a website in explorer. I get an error box with the option to report to mr gates. Its a real pain as I have to do ctr alt del each time.

    the wording comes up as:

    error signature
    s2 Appname: iexplore.exe
    s2 appver: 6.0.2900.2180
    s2 modname: hungapp
    s2 modver0.0.0.0.
    offset00000000

any suggestions of the likely problem? BTW my anti-virus is up to date and the scan shows no infections. I am using xp home with service pack 2

    thanks

I am not sure which part of the techy bit is the actual error.

I may take up amazingtrade's suggestion despite being a despised user of ie. But which one? is one easier than the other for those with little to moderate knowledge of computer stuff.

I moved to Firefox a couple of weeks ago, & am sticking with it.....changed at work too....it's better than IE for me, & you just transfer over all your favourites etc when you set up (it prompts you). Quite straightforward.

Well I have just downloaded firefox and had a play. So far so good. I like the password remembering facility. I can now go on sites that IE crashed on.

    thanks for the help
