    Hi all,

I have been interested for a while in trying some valve-based amplification, and have seen a Copland CSA515 power amp pop up for sale on fleabay. It's a hybrid model which apparently produces 150W using Solid State coupled with 2 ECC882 valves.

I've had a Copland CDP in the past and was impressed by its presentation.

There's very little info to be found on the 'net about this amp as far as I can see, does anyone have any experience of a) Copland amps in general, or b) hybrid amps as a way into the supposed joys of valve amplification?

Am I likely to get a proper "valve" experience from this amp, and would the sound be far removed from my current Solid State power?

    Thanks all.

    Neil

Generally... Copland hybrids aren't a "typical valve sound" if ever there actually is one...

But as a happy owner of a CSA29 hybrid integrated I'd wager that it'll be a very very good amp regardless.
