courier advice

    i have sold my cyrus icons and now need to post them to inverness. i have checked the parcelforce website and they quote over £100! they are boxed and weigh 28k each. does anyone have any advice on services they have used that were reasonable and reliable

    I think APC(Roadstar) would almost certainly be cheaper. Have used several times for large sendings overnight, no problem. If you need extra insurance say so because as with most carriers you will only get measly standard cover, say £13.50 per kilo. Extra cover sould be around £6 per £1000.

    I've always had really good service sending and recieving with Citylink. Quick, reliable, and about half the Post Office prices. And if you have to go to collect a parcel from them, they know where it is, and fetch it straight away.

    thanks for the advice guys. i have seen the citylink page and it does seem a LOT cheaper but without specific costs. i will let you know when i get a real quote. insurance is very important to me so that may be the decider

    Another vote for APC, I used the Logistics North East branch to ship some huge studio speakers down to London and they were excellent.

    The boxes were 1m high each and weighed over 10kg each for £21 guaranteed next day.

    They actually turned up when requested, added extra wrapping and fragile stickers and they arrived in London when requested!!!

    these speakers are in 1.5 m boxes which weigh 28k each. i know i'm paying at least 50 notes but the guy who bought them paid a good price so i don't mind. do any of you have a link for APC?
