Crap songs that warrant the death penalty for the perpetrator.

Not sure who cited the formulaic angle of queen but I do know they were shite compared to Metallica. Queen were awful pop dross making musak and pushing hoovers in videos dressed as hilda hogden trying to shock the pants out of every middle of the road daily mail reading fop - and were pretty successful in that respect. Metallica were something else completely and had energy, enthusiasm, youth, balls, bad hair and more balls. Give me 'Master Of Puppets' over any dross that Queen spilled any day.

btw , metallica hair was bad, but Brian May takes the garibaldi.

Well, spica, I see you're in touch with your anger!

Actually, The Beatles did have a lot of talent, but I'm not going to waste time arguing with you. You're clearly a bit unhinged.

Anyway, my vote for execution for the worst ever recorded has to be Dave Matthews, an utterly talentless guitar noodler. When I was eight years old I tried to make up music when I was taking a bath. After perhaps thirty seconds, or maybe even a minute I stopped. Clearly I had no songwriting talent at that age. Dave Matthews not only didn't stop, he recorded his. What utter dreck! Right behind him is Delbert McClintock. Actually, I heard something by him at work and thought it was Dave &@#*%& Matthews. There didn't seem to be any difference. When you step in a turd, do ask what kind of dog it was? does it matter? It's still s**t.

Can I just add ANYTHING by Eianaudi. This is the very worst type of 'cla**ical' music. You don't need me to explain any further, do you?

Whilst on the theme of novelty records, (and yes, I would put Joe Dolce's offering in this catergory): I bought a copy of 'Ello John Gotta New Motor?' by Alexi Sayle. Thought it was the funniest thing ever at the time (I was 14). Played it to my daughters (15 + 18) - a real tumbleweed moment....how embarrasing....

Anyone who criticises The Beatles is just plain wrong and shouldn't be left near any sharp implements.

You do know that Metallica covered a Queen song don't you?

And that there was a whole host of different styles way before the MTV era. In fact I could well add that they "had energy, enthusiasm, youth, balls, bad hair and more balls." and of course scored a whole lot of 'firsts' some of which influenced the likes of Metallica.

Anyway, being good or not good is down to personal preference, hence why my comments were aimed at just the formulaic reference as that is less subjective. To judge on that, you really need to be more familiar with a range in the back catelogue, not just the 'radio friendly' stuff favoured by MTV.
