Good Lord! Now that is planet-jupiter-extreme! I'm sure there is some rational explanation why this should work?

Of course. Most obvious is vibrations, resonances and enegry exchange. But this is just scratching the surface.

That makes sense. But he must have a very understanding missus if his kit is in the living room.

    :)

I just tried squash balls under my valve amp........yep.......it did well.

It was actually very difficult to quantify WHAT sonded better....it just did.

Not to put anything /anybody down, I have to say I have had more limited success with the squashy ideas generally than the rock solid spike or cone and ball bearing methods. I did once try a sand box once......it was ok.......but my most success has been gained from disspating vibs rather than trying to absorb them (generally).

I always wonder about this, especally as I work in a very dusty environment, there must be all manner of crap down my lug holes :D.

Hey, what about those ear-extenders I read about somewhere, like mickey-mouse ears you can wear to make you hear better! Now that's a classy tweak, ha ha.

They were called 'Golden Ears' I seem to remember - I tried to find a pic of them a couple of months ago to tease somebody on another forum but couldn't locate them :-(.

Indeed :) Folded into a pixie ear shape with the help of a press-stud (I think) and went over your real ear to make it bigger.
