I'm looking for a new broadband deal, and thought this would be a good thread for people to post on. We're all using the internet for a starter!!.

Personally I'm unfortunately limited to 2mb because of my line.

Carphone Warehouse are giving 8mb, 40gb data for £19.99. Two year contract - get a free laptop!!! (80gig h/drive,1 gig ram, dvd writer). AOL. Oh, it's a DELL I believe.

BT, 3 year contract same price, 8mb, still unlimited data £19.99 also. Three year contract (deal to be officially anounced tomorrow) - free laptop!! (specification to be released soon).

Personally - I'm quite liking this ''free laptop'' business.

Any thoughts - what have you seen out there?

I'm now on Vodafone. £25 per month, includes "8Mbps" (I get 2.5 - which is better than before), includes local and national calls and cheap international. You have to have a vodafone contract mobile otherwise it's £35pcm. So far I'm quite happy with their tech support and speed with which they respond to things - it's also FREE to phone customer service/tech support if you use your mobile (191).

I'm on Plusnet 8Mbps (£19.99 a month and no minimum contract so if they get crap I just move elsewhere) - had no problems, other than those caused by BT upgrading my local exchange. I hardly never use the phone so I wasn't interested in any call deals etc. Just want a stable fast connection for using Betfair and playing Counterstrike:Source.

    Two important words "up to".

And - in my opinion "free" should read "included in the price".

oh that's for sure. The risk is that tariffs drop over the length of the contract. At the moment £19.99 is roughly comparable with competition.. laptops costing £350..
