It arrived yesterday and gave it a spin last night - I like it! I understand your description now, Ian, and thank you for making the attempt you did. I definitely hear the Velvet Underground/Captain Beefheart/Fall comparison - I only heard it once so am still looking for the others, although I would add a couple of my own in the meantime as well: Fugazi and Carnival Art. Both of which I love.
