I'd also be listening to Blueberry Boat right now if Amazon hadn't cocked up my order. Gallowsbird's Bark was practically the only genuinely fresh record I heard from a new band last year. Eclectic and scattershot, and borrowing from deep dressing-up box of influences and sources, they still managed to make a sound that was utterly their own.
That edgy brother/sister creative relationship is particularly interesting ââ'¬â€œ*like Karen and Richard crossed with Bart and Lisa. Love Eleanor's voice too. Kind of Karen Carpenter again, by way of Phylis Diller!
Glad someone else has latched on to them. Now if only Amazon would get a bloody move on.
