yep-i am on the right forum........... :)

Phase 349b of the renovation of Chris Towers finally went ahead at weekend, 48 sqaure metres of assorted canvas, silk and voile applied to the lounge window.

SWMBO thinks they look great (should hope so - took me a day and a half to hang the tracks in the bay............)

Me - i think they sound great :D :D - previously we had been curtain free in a room with solid wood floor and nothing soft but a settee.

The fabric has evidently clamed things down a lot -only got to sit down and do some listening last night, just an Eva C. CD. I was amazed at the difference........though i'm sure, for the cost of the curtains, i could have made one heck of a hardware upgrade.......

i've been loitering around but that much fabric takes some time to sew you know!!

was tempted to contribute to the moutain bike thread but that would only lead to me me releasing mine from the cellar, cleaning it up and using it for the first time in 18 months........

I put some new "curtains" up in my room last night.

Made out of binliners and sellotape for that proper ghetto look :D

Chris - if the weather's nice on the weekend fancy a blast down wessenden?

edit: And of course, it would be criminal not to ride ALL the way to the bottom of the hill, so that means carrying on down fall lane, under the bridge, down by the river and by sheer coincidence end up at the Riverhead....

    Isaac,

    like your style........!
fraid i cant make it this weekend - off to Live8........ :)

in fact all weekends this month are spoken for in one form or another.....holidays or various visitors staying over....

.....and the bike also needs some TLC, will get some bits and sort it out then maybe get out for the odd evening jaunt if you like

Could be up for evening ZG bike-off, just need to work out how to get the bike on the Boxster? I havent used mine in a couple of yearseither so will struggle up hill (and probably down) although I have been running a bit from a fitness POV.

I think a ZG bike-off is a fantastic plan.... I say up and down the wessenden valley (from around.... oohhh... my house?) and then an evening in the riverhead.

    Hello folks!

Isaac - got a pump for the tyres last night - thats stage one :D ! just pumping the sodding things up again will be exercise in itself :D .....TBH tyres have been flat for a good while and the bike has been moved so i think i'll be looking for new inner tubes.....
thanks for the offer of help - should be ok though - too many hours of my youf spent with my BMX in bits - though if you know anything about rockshox Indy forks that may be useful, i dont think they are bad so much as maybe i'd like them a bit firmer to beter handle my 90+kg...
Will hopefully get to look at the job in full next week, note to self - must try to locate SPD shoes, post relocation i have no idea where they will be.....

Rob - yup - off to Live8 - scary propect for me, much prefer a more intimate gig but this'll be one to tell the grandkids about i guess..... ;)
As for bake off and bikes off - yup, up for the biking, maybe enen a bake / beer off sometime as well.....

Tenson - given my current lack of fitness a ride UP Wessenden  Valley will feel like i've ridden up from your place......just thinking about it makes my quads cramp up......

It's only bad the first time Chris. :D (Says he having done his "first time" for the year.)

The Indy is a simple elastomer fork... I have some blocks of hard RST elastomer which should probably fit and firm it up a bit (or we can try a spring if it's not too big, although I can't remember if the indy is damped... I suspect it might not be). I'm happy to have a look... Otherwise I might have a fairly tasty pair of RSTs for sale very soon (once the couriers actually deliver the Maguras!) which have always been too firm for my 50 kilos...
