I have thumb trigger shifters, but I would much perfer the older type lever (on top of the handle bar) so I could select the gears quicker I find the trigger system slow and cumbersome.  Maybe a grip shift is the way to go, but don't you end up changing gears by accident, that would really get on my wick.
