Cyrus CD7Q CD player in original silver for sale. I have owned it for the last nine years. It is in perfect working order and condition. It comes complete with original carton, all leads supplied as when new, remote control, manual and the original sales receipt.
All attempts at improving upon the sound of this have always resulted in a different and not a better sound, hence the unusual length of time of ownership (for me). Even when playing through far more expensive partnering equipment, this player still reveals no weaknesses. This model is held in high esteem by Cyrus fans. It will also play CD-Rs, unlike the more recent Cyrus players !
The Q-DAC board was retro fitted by myself about six years back, hence no ‘Q' symbol on the drawer. Note the picture which shows the screen displaying ‘CD7Q' upon startup which proves that the module has been installed. And yes, the heatsink / washer thingy is in place. I also serviced the unit myself a few months back which cured a skipping problem. I gave the laser lens a good clean with IPA and cleaned and regreased the mechanism.
I am only selling now as I have moved to a more convenient one-box system from Meridian.
The original selling price was ~£1,100. I'll sell for £330, postage extra. I believe that is around what the better examples fetch. They don't come up very often, so please correct me if you have a better idea of the market value.
