Hi, I have a problem with my Cyrus II amp. Left hand channel is quiter than right. After leaving it on for a while it gets louder, but never sxeem to quite get the balance right. Has anybody had this problem before? and what was the solution? Thanks Thunderbird 2007

Dry joint or a tired electrolytic cap would be my guess.
I recently bought a receiver in which the PSU caps have nearly expired and it displays similar behavior.
Worth fixing though as it's a cracker of an amp.

Could be almost anything, including unfortunately the output devices. First thing to check is the dc offset of each channel. Once its warmed up does the balance improve with the volume control set higher up? Could be a mixture one thing that causes the initial problem and a slightly poorly pot on the volume control.

Thanks for the help guys. Have had a look inside and there does seem to be some slightly rusted joints. Also the main caps look easy enough to replace, so may start there. Fortunately I work in electronics industry, just am not an engineer, so will get my colleagues to change them for me. Am intending to do a lenghty warm up session today, to see if it really does improve over time.
Again thanks for the help and I'll let you know how I get on.
