    Hi dudes!

So a friend of mine is looking for a cheap hard disk based MP3 player... have any of you seen or got the Dabs own one? It seems a little too good to be true. A 30GB HDD MP3 player for £130 inc. VAT http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/har...s/productView.htm?quicklinx=3FTJ&familyid=789

What are the recommendations for around £150?

    Thanks!

and yeah, long time no post! I am working on something special ;)

Especially when you can get the next one up of 60gb for a tenner more!

I suspect as there arent any in stock for another month that this price is being used as 'an invitation'.

    Still if it is true..bargain!

My concern would be the whole user interface especially between computer and device, what software does it support for getting the tracks on there? Can you create playlists? Is it basically just a harddrive?

Okay well the website decided they wouldn't stock it after all and refunded my money so I went to Dixons in Bluewater and got an Archos Gmini XS 200. It is verrrrrrry small, 20gb storage and runs just beautifully. you can just use it as an external HDD so all you have to do is drag the mp3's onto it then update the ARC library. I can't get over how small it is....

Sound quality... well I haven?t heard an I-pod or any other mp3 player through my Hi-Fi but it does sound very good! The bass could be a bit tighter and it lacks finesse and detail in comparison to playing it through my computer which is using the digital out of my Edirol DA2496 to the DAC in the Behringer DEQ2496.
