DAC output question

    Just wondering.... what is it that governs the output voltage of a DAC? Is it down to a particular component?

    It depends on the design of the DAC. Typically the output will be buffered, and again typically this is the job of an op-amp. Where that is the case then the gain of the op-amp is set by the relationship between some resistors in the circuit. The same is true in discrete output stages.
