DAC problems

    Started getting 1/4 second dropouts from my dac in the last few days, anyone recommend a repairer for it. Its a Bel Canto 2.

    Thanks for that, I will contact them on Monday.
    The signal light is indicating No Lock of signal when I get the "dropout", would this be a clocking issue with the dac or something else ?

    Could also be a problem with your transport. Try it with a different transport before sending the DAC anywhere.

    I have tried it with 2 other transports and still the same problem,its 1/4 second dropout the light changes for the same length of time as well.As I am not electrically minded I have run out of ideas on what it could be, hence me wanting to get it to someone who can fix the problem .

    The Belcanto DAC is dropping its lock with the transport, have you tried unplugging the DAC from the mains power for 5
    min than re powering up the system Transport first then DAC, I've had this problem with both a Belcanto and MF A324.
    Things should work after a reboot if not its the receiving IC that's at fault. (never swap digital cables with the transport and
    DAC powered on)

    Now I have another cunning plan.
