If you are thinking of a TV advert with piano and clapping that is indeed Brubeck – the track is called Blue rondo a la turk off the album Time Out. Great LP all through.

    Sounds more like "Un-square dance"

Be warned - the Brubeck grtst hits CD I have is a very lifeless sound.
Try to get it on black pizza if possible

I've got "The Essential". Only ever listened to it once or twice. Foot tapping stuff. Haven't really listened to it enough to form a solid opinion. And as for sound quiality, it seemed ok through headhphones. They're not the MOst revealing cans around though.

You are of course correct – that will teach me to reply without playing the record to check!

Un-square dance is on Time further out and also on the Brubeck's Greatest Hits compilation. I've got the double LP that comprises both Time Out and Time Further Out, hence getting a bit confused – I tend to play the whole thing in one go! Both albums are superb.

There's also a Dave Brubeck colaboration with the LSO Live available directly from LSO if you like that sort of thing.
