Took delivery of Bjorks "HoMOgenic" Amazon link here , and Del the Funky HoMOsapien's "Both Sides of the Brain". (AMAZON link here)

Bjork, you'll all no doubt be familiar with. I've always liked MOst of what i've heard of her stuff, but this is the first thing i've bought. I ordered 4 of her albums off of amazons used thingy. Each for about £3 :D I've had "debut" on long term *loan* from one of my brothers, but thought about time I owned it myself....

HoMOgenic was first to arrive and instantly impressed. Infact, within the first 1 minute I knew I was going to like this! Bjork does certain things great, and has done quite a mix of stuff in her time. This is what i'd class as the style MOst appealing to me :D

10 tracks that fly past, each one as involving as the previous. You all know what her voice can do, and if you like it then great. This album is impressive in it's production too! Lots of funky electronic sounds. Lots of strings. And, generaly a very impressive soundscape through which her unique and beautiful vocals flow between. She screams, sings and growls. Sounding like everything from a vulnerable cute li'l eskiMO (?@spelling), through to a growling horny sex beast! meow! There's few better things than hearing Bjork growling and swearing!

If you like bjork and fancy something with some excellent beats and such, 100% recomended!

I was going to write about the Del album too, but have to leave for work. Will add later......

Yeah - "Homogenic" is good - though I didn't rate "Vespertine" at all - just couldn't get into it. I love that track on "Post" though - the one where she's singing about throwing car parts, bottles and cutlery off a cliff and wandering what her body'd sound like crashing into the bottom... Way cool... She's the mistress of messed up lyrics!

I rate bjork too - even in her early days with tha other band (name escapes me at the MO), one famous track that is easily accessible is 'birthday'.

Didnt she get done for pissing on the stage at one gig? or is this another urban myth?

Dom, the tune you mention is Hyperballad. That's the only thing of Bjorks i'd previously owned: 6 Track remix ep.

I've got Debut, Post, and Telegram on their way too. Seems to be quite a bit of her stuff for only a few quid on amazon! As Julian say's there was a gap that needed plugging.

Mm, Bjork's great. Not to everyone's tastes, but IMO, great. I have all of her post-Sugarcubes albums (I don't have Gling Glo - that sounds interesting), and I love them all (including Vespertine, which I think is great). Just good, quirky, lively music that brings a smile to my face. It also tends to be great for giving the hifi a workout (Homogenic in particular - some serious bass on that disc).

"Gling Glo" comes as no surprise if you hear her singing style on "It's oh so quiet". I want to hear GG though as that sounds pretty cool :)

"Hyperballad" - aaaah yeah, can't believe I forgot that one!

I've got a Sugarcubes 12inch (it was 10p in a charity shop) - it's pretty damn good but not sure what it's called. I heard "Birthday" on the Chart Show too - I was 12 at the time (I think) and I remember thinking how fit she looked - she's a weird one but I'd not say no! :)
