I'm toying with the idea of upgrading the AC motor in my Roksan Radius 5 to one of Origin Lives DC motor kits. Origin Live note that my deck can be modified quite easily and the benefits are immediately noticeable (well they would...) or I am entitled to my money back!

Can anyone offer any advice from experience as to whether they think going DC is a worth while move?

    Thanks,

    KXF

Can't speak for the Origin Live situation, but replacing an elderly and noisy Gyrodec motor with Michell's DC motor was a definite step forward.

You may notice that while (some) AC motors have tendency to mains-related hum, (some) DC motors tend toward a higher-pitched whine.
