Come on Tone, it's called the "La Scala" (well actually "Verdi, La Scala") named after the famous opera house in Milan. I suppose since Verdi was one of the great Italian opera composers it makes sense.

Looks identical to Verdi to me. Looks like it does the job of the Verdi and Purcell in one package. Still need a Delius or Elgar Plus on the end of it though. Makes a dCS setup so much more affordable :D

Sounds like an interesting idea. Although the days of me wanting to spend that much money on a single brand new component have well and truly passed I feel. :MILD:

DSD upsampling of red book CD I really like, but seeing as the future of SACD is as yet still to be written, I'm more than happy sticking with what I currently have.

I'm surprised dCS haven't brought out a one-box DAC/upsampler yet though. Wonder why they decided to do it this way round?

Are DCS' pro products any cheaper than their "audiophile" products?
