I need recommendations on a decent RGB scart lead, and not too expensive (up to £40, s/h considered if you have something worthwhile). Component (3xRCA) to SCART considered.

ixos do a proper RGB scart to scart...we do them for £50 though I'm afraid. try hifibitz, hificables or ebay... can't remember the model number but the xht611 is the fully wired, cheaper version if that helps

We did a SCART shootout in my house the other day, the Ixos was way down the leather, the Audioquest a bit up, the good ones where the QED RGB and the Chord RGB, the second way more expensive...

I ordered a RGB/SCART adaptor + a component cable to connect my DVD to the TV, still waiting for the adapter, (coming from Australia, only place I could fing gold plated ones), I will let you know if it beats my Chord SCART that is connecting the cable box to the TV...

By the way, lousy game for Portugal...

What do you see that is different on the TV screen? When I try compare two S-video cables one a £50/m audiophile branded agaisnt another cheap £10/m I couldn't see any mark improvement on my TV screen.

I am not trying to question if there is a real differences or not, and you are just imaging them. I am totally neutral about this. Just trying to learn what I should be looking out for that better built cables could do to video pictures.

    Yes, it is the AV41...

We compared them with the starting menu of Shreck, it is easy to see the difference on edges of drawings, detail in the background, colours, for instance the book in the beguining has golden drawings that will look green with lesser cables or players...

We connected by component video from my Arcam FMJ DVD player to my Loewe TV...

Anyway we started the tests with a cheapish Onkyo player, (until its SCART socket broke), connected to a Thomson TV using RGB, with the same differences...

I think it was their top, a little more than half price of the QED RGB...

Two friends that had IXOS replaced it with QED, noticeably better...

I am not getting e-mails with the answers to my threads, any problem with Zerogain...

i use this one- the XHT411

the RGB one Isaac is the one you mentioned- the XHV601. They do a silver plated one, the xht811 too
The QED Sqart leads are pretty good too- forgotten about those

The RGB/SCART adapter arrived from Australia, so I finally conected the player with a LAT International VI-6 Mark II component cable instead of the Chord SCART RGB, didnt bother with "serious" comparisons, but it looks at least as good, and it costs half the price, the only drawback is the TV wont detect automatically the format, so I have to change manually...

I've decided that I'll have a go at making my own from a few pieces of satellite cable and some metal-bodied SCART plugs.

Glod is the new gold, it's nearly as uber as blue leds.

I wonder when the new range of Omiga Audio glod SCART leads are out ;)
