I cleaned out the breather pipe, got it working again, 30 miles later its blocked again. I have also replaced the fuel cap so its not that.

I am suspecting worn piston rings, on top of the fact it has a warn camshaft there is just little point on doing any work on the engine.

Rather than run into the ground I have decided because of the lack of MOT (4 months to go) I should just get shot now.

Its sad, my first car, last me just over a month. If I buy another Fiesta (I know mines been nothing but trouble but mine is the only one I have known to be like that) I could swap a lot of spares over :).

Buy something sensible this time. I've never seen a cheap Fiesta that isn't a shed.
Buy a Micra or a Toyota Starlet. they'll never break down

Stop buying shit then AT, what did you expect for the money?

Either get a Skoda or Jap, the only trouble with Jap when they go wrong you won't be fixing it and its not cheap.

Also you do not sound like a competent mechanic, perhaps best left to someone that is.

No, no, you obviously have an ability with this.

Whether the line "wheres a f*****g ambulance when you need one?" (or similar) will do down with your granny (or mine) is another matter! :D

    only kidding :D

Small older jap cars are death traps and cost a fortune to insure as a result. Skodas maybe.

Anyway I have sorted the car now, the new filler cap seems to have done the trick, the sludge around the valves is completly clear and it dosn';t seem to be getting blocked anymore.

Drives fine, well at least it did before I kurbed it this afternoon:D Don't think any damage was caused, but it illustrates the exact reason I didn't want to pay a lot for my first car:D
