I just had a talk on this with my son and a friend of his (both 20 and accomplished musicians). Their pick:

    My son:
Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon
    AC/DC - Highway to hell
Rachmaninoff - Piano concertos 2 and 3 Byron Janis / Antal Dorati

    His friend:
    Beatles - Abbey Road
    J. Hendrix - Axis bold as love
    The band - Last Waltz

Interestingly, it's mostly 70s anglosaxon music.

I'am afraid my own choice is off topic
Bach - St John Passion - Philippe Herreweghe (or Michel Corboz)

    My choices today might be:
    Mingus -- Blues and Roots
Brel -- Intégrale Jacques Brel ;)
VA -- The music of Islam :D

OK, so I cheated. Sue me.

Well, nos 1 and 3 would almost certainly be on my list also but not AC/DC  . Restricting it to 3 is harsh, but I'd probably complete the set with Wagner's Götterdämmerung - Solti / Vienna Philharmonic.

RG others may disagree, they may not be the best individually (although Peart is the best skinsman for me)but they come close to the top, but as a band I don't think there are another 3 more in harmony than RUSH, so damn tight, it's as if they are connected mentally. Take camera eye from MP wow, feckin amazing even after all these years, 10min 55 secs seems to fifish in a coupla minutes, I've been into this band for more than 25 years and they still give me goosebumps.
