    Hi

Just finishing ripping cds to the harddrive to finish my music server. I am currently using the optical out from the squeezebox to the m-audio 2496 dac with a £12.00 odd optical cable from profigold. Is this good enough and should I spend the money on some more cds, or should I be looking at getting a better IC? Oh and was there any difference between optical and coaxial on the squeezebox?

    Cheers...

coax and optical both have pros and cons. i prefer the sound of coax but to be honest it's not a massive difference. if you have a coax lying about give it a try if not don;t stress.

the thing that makes me laugh are 'gold plated' optical connectors - wtf is that all ab out then?
    cheers
